PhD Candidate: Alloying Type Electrodes for High-Performance Batteries

IMDEA Materials Institute is seeking for a PhD Candidate. This PhD deals with fabrication and study of alloying type electrodes (e.g., Si) for battery applications. The project pursues the assembly of model system electrodes and half-cells, and the study of reaction mechanisms and phenomena governing their charge storage and failure modes. It includes use of in-situ and/or in-operando measurements (Raman and X-ray scattering) and advanced methods for characterisation of electrodes and interfaces.
