The Radiochemistry and Nuclear imaging Group at CIC biomaGUNE, San Sebastian, led by Dr. Jordi Llop, invites motivated candidates to apply for a 3 years contract in molecular imaging science to obtain a doctoral degree. The project is focused on the evaluation of enzyme-powered nanomotors (particles with self-motile capacities) as a drug delivery system for the diagnosis and/or treatment of bladder cancer.
By using a multi-modal imaging approach, the current project will be focused on the preclinical investigation of the use of nanomotors in a mouse model of bladder cancer. Positron emission tomography (PET) imaging will be combined with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies to investigate tumor growth and nanomotors internalization. Ex vivo histological analyses, ICP-MS and MALDI imaging on bladder tumor will also be performed to corroborate the in vivo results.
